Anticipation- July 14, 2015

We are about one day away from the bloom time for the night blooming cereus. I have had this plant (well two of them) for maybe 6-8 years. It bloomed 3 years ago for the first time. I thought it was 2 but I checked and it was 3.  It bloomed mid August that year. I can definitely say that it is a mid summer bloomer. And when it blooms all the blooms come at about the exactly the same day.
Here are shots from the plant in the front yard. It hangs from the bog tree, on a long plant hanger.

The buds curve up right before they bloom. Here is a picture of one in 2012 right before it curved.

What is amazing is that on the plant in the front yard there are six buds, all exactly at the same stage. In the back yard is the second plant. It is a cousin of the front yard plant. It has only two buds, but they are curling up, at exactly the same time, getting ready to bloom maybe tomorrow night.

I will show pictures when they happen.
