We have learned about the limits of technology, all week.
Sometimes texting worked. Cell phones from the cabin-not so much.
You will not get the usual sections of the blog this week.
But just wait for next week.
There are still some pictures from our trip.
It has been quite a week, here in the Estes Park area of Colorado. I first came to this town when I was in high school, with my parents for a conference. Julia and I came back here for 3-4 days in 1971, on springbreak after we had been married.
We then rediscovered the area in 1991. We then came regulrly for 25 years. However we had not been here since 2015.
I understand it rained in Iowa City while we were gone. Of course it also had air that, while not orange like the pictures from the east a month ago, was still unhealty to breathe. I am glad I did not test this by being home and gardening.
Saturday-a week ago
We learned about ajdusting to altitude. Estes Park is at 7500 feet in elivation
One impression is that it is so green. Green grass. Everywhere. In a place we have thought of as dry,
Denver is only 5280. (Mile high and all that.)
Aside from the headaches it seemed to me at least as if I was just a little dizzy all the time.
We met up with Katie and family in Denver. Counting niece Mary there were 8 of us, ranging in age from 2(almost 3) to Julia and I in our 70's.
We checked in the to Y came, which had furnished cabins. We got a 4 bedroom cabin.
Sunday
Christopher got to play the organ at the little church in Estes Park.
We did the big grocery shop. There are 8 people with two being those who will mostly eat noodles and berries and clementines and cookies.
Monday-
We went into the Park this morning, going to a lovely lake that was over 9000 feet.
There were iris. One reason we love this area is experiencing the flowers.
More pictures
That is it for this week.
Next week there will be more pictures, including an explanation of the last picture.
We stayed in a cabin named Peace.
Let us hope that is a sign.
Pray for our world.

What fun! The video of Christopher at the organ was "unavailable," so maybe you'll post it next week.
The irises were wonderful--do they occur there naturally? And what was the lovely blue & white flower? A columbine? Beautiful.
Have fun, be safe. And Happy Fourth of July.
Like Pat, I couldn't see the Christopher video. The irises were a surprise -- great stuff.
